Originally a 16th-century castle, the Prytanée National Militaire is a prestigious military college and one of La Fleche’s most notable buildings. Other notable buildings include the Eglise Saint-Louis and the Eglise Saint-Thomas, the seventeenth century Pavillion Fouquet de La Varenne and the Bruere, the last mill in France to produce ice. Other attractions include La Fleche Zoo, which has more than 1,200 animals, including rare and endangered species.

Spanning about fifty hectares, the beautiful mix of lakes and meadows created from a former gravel pit is a popular destination for walking, cycling and wildlife viewing.
